Wilson Canyon #49 is an easy out-and-back hike in the Red Rock Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about 2.2 miles long with a 324-foot elevation gain from a low point of 4,518 feet to a high of 4,834 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is open to horses. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sedona show April highs around 75°F and October highs around 79°F, while July averages climb to 97°F. The trail sits close to several other routes. Wilson Mountain Spur B and Wilson Mountain #10 are both about 0.1 mile away, and the climbing areas The Surf and The Beach are about half a mile off.
