Tramway is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Mogollon Rim Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 1,767 feet, and it reaches a high point of 6,700 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced, and the steepest stretch comes early, with a grade of about 39% at 0.23 miles. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June through September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 80°F in June to about 76°F in September, with lows in the mid-40s. Winter is cold, with typical highs in the mid-40s and lows near 17°F from December through February. The hike pairs well with climbing. The Middle Section, John Doe Wall and Log Jam area are all about 0.3 miles away. Maxwell is a hike of about 0.9 miles, and Long Valley campground is roughly 5.8 miles off.
