The Tom Moody Loop Trail is a 3.5-mile loop in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest, within the Picture Canyon Natural And Cultural Preserve. It is city-managed land, and the trail is rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of 262 feet. The route is a loop that starts and ends at roughly the same point, with a low of about 6,627 feet and a high of about 6,863 feet. The climb is gentle, and the trail is open to horses, bikes and leashed dogs. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 67°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. The Don Weaver Trail and Rain Valley Path both start about 0.3 miles away. Climbers can head to Lost Elden, about 2.3 miles off, and Little Elden Springs Horsecamp is about 3.7 miles away.
