Summit Mountain is an easy out-and-back hike in the Williams Ranger District of Arizona's Kaibab National Forest, about 2.2 miles long with a total elevation gain of 615 feet. The trailhead is named Summit Mountain Trailhead, and the Forest Service manages the land. The route starts at about 7,132 feet and climbs to a high point of 7,745 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Williams show May highs around 71°F and October highs around 67°F, while July and August bring the most wet days. Dogtown Lake Campground and Group and the climbing at The White Wall are about 5.6 miles away. Perkins Tank Trail is about 3.5 miles off, and Sunflower Flat Mtn. Bike is about 3 miles away.
