Sycamore Rim is a hard hike in Arizona's Kaibab National Forest, on the Williams Ranger District, about 11 miles long and gaining about 483 feet from the trailhead to the high point of 7,287 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is on natural surface, with bikes allowed. The most comfortable months for the trip are typically May and September, when typical highs at a nearby weather station run around 68°F and 74°F and wet days are fewer than in midsummer. July and August bring highs in the low 80s but about 12 to 13 wet days a month. The Sycamore Vista Trailhead is the parking for this route, and it's open year-round. Plan on about four hours for the trip. The Obsidian Wall and Pillow Wall climbing areas sit about 0.1 mile from the trail, and the Pomeroy Tanks Trail and Whitehorse hike are both within about 2 miles.
