Pigeon Loop is a 9.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in Arizona, on Forest Service land. The trail rises from 6,861 feet to 7,482 feet, and the 566-foot elevation gain adds to the challenge of the distance, which makes the route a hard climb rather than a quick outing. The trail is a natural-surface route, and it is open to both horses and bikes. It is not an accessible trail, so plan on a ride or ride on foot. The trailhead is Pigeon Loop Trailhead (#301), and the route is open year-round. Spring and fall bring the most comfortable conditions. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run about 68°F in April and 72°F in October, while July and August average highs near 89°F with more wet days. Granville Spring Trail and Grand Enchantment Trail Alternative 15 both sit about 0.3 miles away, and Granville Campground is half a mile off. Upper Juan Miller Campground lies about 5.5 miles away.
