Muscle Boulder is a bouldering area on the Tennessee Valley Authority's Wheeler Reservoir Retained Land in Alabama. It sits among a cluster of other climbing areas, with Arecibo Boulders, Middle Bishop and Found Boulder all about 0.1 mile away. The site has five boulder routes, all rated between V1 and V4 on the V scale. The easiest are Muscle Shirt and Muscle Up at V1, and the hardest is Muscle Memory at V4. For the most comfortable weather, aim for fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 74°F and lows near 47°F in October, and the station sits lower than the boulders, so temperatures on the rock run cooler.
