Wahsatch

Wahsatch is a ghost town in Summit County, Utah, positioned along I-80 at the northeastern end of Echo Canyon, roughly 23 miles east of Echo and about 11 miles west of Evanston, Wyoming. Its origins trace to 1868, when it was established as a railroad camp. Over time the settlement took on a secondary identity tied to sheep ranching before the community was eventually abandoned sometime in the 1930s.

Visitors today are arriving at a sparsely documented historic site, so expectations should be modest. The setting along Echo Canyon gives the location scenic character, and the easy interstate access means a detour is straightforward for travelers passing through. What physical remnants remain on the ground is not well recorded, so treat any exploration as a look at the landscape and context rather than a guaranteed encounter with standing structures.
