About this water
Lake Lure is a scenic mountain reservoir in Rutherford County surrounded by dramatic rocky cliffs and the Hickory Nut Gorge. The lake supports excellent largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing along its rocky shorelines and submerged structure. Boat rentals and a public boat ramp near Chimney Rock State Park make this a popular destination for both local and visiting anglers.
