Friend Creek Pinnacle Region is a climbing area in Wyoming's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, within the Douglas Ranger District/Thunder Basin National Grassland. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits about 0.4 miles from the Laramie Peak Region, another climbing area. The climbing here is all trad, with 10 routes spread across a range from 5.8 to 5.11d. The median grade is 5.10c. Among the named routes are The Tackle for Trout at 5.8, Trout Line at 5.10a and Inaugural Address at 5.11d. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Shirley Basin show July highs around 81°F and lows near 46°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. That station sits about 1,300 feet lower than the pinnacles, so temperatures up high run cooler. Friend Park Campground is about 1.3 miles away, and the Laramie Peak Trail is about 1.3 miles off.
