Devils Tower is a climbing area within Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, managed by the National Park Service. The monument surrounds the iconic tower, and several routes and trails start within about a tenth of a mile of it, making the area a compact hub for both climbers and hikers. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 85°F with lows in the mid-50s, while winter brings highs in the low to mid 30s and frequent snow days from December through February. A fee is charged for visiting, so plan on paying before you go. Tower Trail and Red Beds Trail are both hikes about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can head to the West Face and Southwest Shoulder, also within a tenth of a mile.
