Coke Bottle is a climbing area in the Laramie Ranger District of the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest in Wyoming, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, with Fall Wall, Walt's Wall and Hassler's Hatbox all about 0.1 mile away, and Vedauwoo Glen about the same distance. The climbing here is a mix of trad and sport routes, with 10 trad routes and 4 sport routes among the 15 listed. The YDS grades run from 5.7+ up to 5.13c, with the hardest route, Young Guns, a sport climb at 5.13c. Mainstreet, a trad route at 5.10a, was first climbed by Mark Hesse in 1972, and Horn's Mother, a trad route at 5.11a, was first climbed by D. McClure and M. Hesse in 1973. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Laramie show July highs around 81°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs stay in the low to mid 30s. That station sits about 900 feet lower than Coke Bottle, so temperatures at the climbing area run cooler.
