West Pilgrim is a hard hike in the Teton Wilderness, part of the Blackrock Ranger District of Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a natural-surface out-and-back that climbs from about 7,300 feet to about 8,800 feet over roughly 12.8 miles. The route is rated hard, and the one-way gain is about 1,490 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Old Faithful show July highs around 76°F with lows near 39°F, and the station sits about 1,500 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. Horses are allowed, and bikes are not. The Pilgrim-Middle Pilrim Creek and Pligrim hikes start within half a mile. Pacific Creek Campground is about 6 miles away, and Pilgrim Creek offers canoeing about 3 miles off.
