Mountain View is a hike in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, managed by the National Park Service. The surrounding landscape is shaped by the interplay of rock types, sediments and topography, which influences both plant distribution and, according to some scientists, wildlife. The sagebrush steppe and grasslands here provide important habitat for animals. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth show July highs around 81°F with lows near 48°F, and June and September both averaging highs in the upper 60s. That station sits about 730 feet lower than this hike, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. A fee is charged for the visit. Three other hikes, Glacial Boulder, The Land Tells the Story and What's Blooming, all lie about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can find Campsite 2H3 boulders roughly 5.4 miles off.
