The Hoodoos is a climbing area in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, managed by the National Park Service. It sits within the park's land, and a fee is charged for access. The area is a bouldering destination, with 10 routes in total, eight of them boulders and two sport routes. The boulders run from V1+ to V6-, with the hardest of them, Robin Hood and Legendary Hospitality, at V5-6. The sport routes are rated 5.5 to 5.8 on the YDS scale. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mammoth show July highs around 81°F and lows near 48°F, with no snow days from June through August. That station sits about 866 feet lower than the hoodoos, so temperatures at the climbing area run cooler. Several trails start close by, including Bunsen Peak Overlook about 0.6 miles away and the Bunsen Peak Trailhead (1K4) about a mile off. The Gardner River, about 2 miles away, offers paddling, and the Gardiner District, roughly 6 miles away, has lake fishing.
