Dipper Lake is a moderate 3.7-mile out-and-back hike on natural-surface trails in the Brush Creek-Hayden Ranger District of Wyoming's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. The trail rises from about 10,700 feet to about 11,500 feet, a climb of about 800 feet, and the Forest Service manages the land. The trailhead is marked as Dipper Lake, and the route stays open year round. The trail is a straightforward out-and-back with a steady climb to the lake. Bikes and horses are both allowed, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. For a full day in the area, the Heart Lake Trail starts less than a mile away and the Quealy Lake Trail is about a mile off. Farther out, the Medicine Bow Peak Area climbing area is about 2 miles away and Sugarloaf Campground is about 3 miles away.
