The Brain Boulder is a climbing area in West Virginia, about 1.2 miles from the town of Neponset. It sits among a cluster of bouldering spots, with Lyman's Boulder, Bozooka Boulder and the Bozooka Area all within about a tenth of a mile. That makes it easy to pair with other climbs in the same neighborhood. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Bluestone Lake weather station show May highs around 76°F and September highs near 79°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Beyond the boulders, Pipestem Knob Trail is about 6.6 miles away, and Rich Creek offers canoeing about 6.7 miles off. Knob Ridge and the Guided Horseback Trail are both within about 7 miles.
