Sam Hill is a climbing area in the Wenatchee River Ranger District of Washington's Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, set within a cluster of climbing and hiking destinations. The Underhill and Bebop-Dinky-Secret Crags areas and the Snow Lakes Trail all sit about a tenth of a mile away, so it's easy to fit this crag into a longer outing in the district. The climbing here runs from trad routes like Sams n' Cams at 5.7 to sport at Box Spring Booty, 5.10d, with mixed styles in between. The median grade is 5.10a, and the routes are a mix of sport and trad, with a few mixed options. For timing, late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs near 78°F, while July and August average highs of about 87°F. The Eightmile Group Site and Bridge Creek Group Site campgrounds are both within about 4 miles, and Peshastin Creek offers canoeing roughly 6 miles away.
