Double D is a mountain biking climb in Washington, about 21 miles from the town of Prevost. The route is an out-and-back that starts at roughly 880 feet and climbs to about 1,530 feet, with a total gain of 793 feet over 2.6 miles. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at the start, where the grade reaches about 24 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Friday Harbor show July and August highs around 72 to 73°F, with only six to eight wet days a month. That station sits well below the climb, so temperatures up high run cooler. Several other mountain biking routes sit close by. Viewpoint Trail and Resurrection are each about 0.1 mile away, and A Road and T Road are about 0.2 mile away.
