Blue Balls is a short, low-lying mountain biking route in Washington, about 20 miles from the town of Prevost. It is an out-and-back ride of roughly 0.28 miles, with a high point of 1,128 feet and a low of 1,074 feet. The climb is gentle, with a total gain and loss of about 54 feet each way, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.09 miles into the route, with a grade of about 3%. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Friday Harbor show July and August highs around 72 to 73°F, with lows near 50°F and the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits well below the route, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other mountain biking routes sit close by.
