Boulder X is a bouldering area in Virginia, set within the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Glenwood and Pedlar Ranger Districts of the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest. The National Park Service manages the land, and there is no fee to visit. The area is a cluster of boulders rather than a single climb. Five boulder problems sit here, all rated on the V scale. The easiest is X Marks the Spotter at V1, and the hardest is Arete Proj at V7+. The Chad Proj and Linkup Proj are both V7+. Two other bouldering areas, Chunk Boulder and Nucleus Boulder, lie about 0.1 mile away. For a walk, Johnson Trail and Harkening Hill Loop Trail are both within a mile. Jennings Creek, about 3.7 miles off, offers canoeing.
