UUWB Shoulder is a climbing area in Vermont, about 1.2 miles from the town of West Bolton. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots and short hikes, with several other areas within a few tenths of a mile. The climbing here is all trad, and the five routes range from 5.5 to 5.7 on the YDS scale. Chemical Warfare, Gas Mask and Mittens for Kittens are all 5.5, and Morose Terminations is the hardest at 5.7. The routes are close together, so it's easy to pair a few in one visit. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 77°F in July, with September still near 68°F. Winters are cold, with January highs around 26°F. C - Upper Tier - Right End and Libby's Look Loop are both about 0.1 mile away, and Alien Boulder and Wild West Wall are about 0.2 mile off. For a longer outing, the Winooski River is about 4 miles away.
