Lake Dunmore/Falls of Lana is a climbing area in Vermont's Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests, within the Middlebury Ranger District. It sits close to the town of Middlebury, and the Main Crag climbing area is just 0.1 mile away. The area has three traditional routes, all rated between 5.3 and 5.9 on the YDS scale. Lana Direct is the easiest at 5.3, and The Box is the hardest at 5.9. The Crack falls in the middle at 5.8. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Salisbury run to highs around 84°F in July, with September easing to about 75°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Rattlesnake Cliff and the Nature Trail are both within a quarter mile.
