S Crags is a trad climbing area in the San Rafael Reef Wilderness of Utah, within the Bureau of Land Management's Price Field Office. The surrounding country is rugged and remote, with several other crags and climbing areas clustered close by, so the climb here is part of a wider network rather than a single destination. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Goblin Valley run from highs around 66°F in April to 68°F in October, while July highs reach about 95°F and January lows drop to 17°F. The area has six trad routes, all rated between 5.7 and 5.9 on the YDS scale. Airborn to New Time Zone and Every Picture Tells a Story are both 5.7s, and Berghaus Red is a 5.8+. The climbers who pioneered these routes are named in their first-ascent records. N Crags and P Crags sit about 0.1 mile away, and the Eastern Reef Area, also known as The Sandstone Alps, is just as close. For a hike, Sprit Arch and Petroglyph Panel Trail is roughly 3.8 miles away.
