Pangaea is a climbing area in southern Utah, within the Escalante Ranger District of the Dixie National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land. The climbing here is alpine, with 10 routes on record, ranging from 5.7 to 5.11- on the YDS scale. Several of the routes are close to each other, making it easy to link them in one outing. Among the named routes are Land of the Lost Portal at 5.7 and Tectonic Plates at 5.11-. The others sit in between, with Ode to Sha're at 5.9+ and Continental Drift at 5.10d. The area is best suited for climbers who enjoy alpine-style objectives and are comfortable with the grade range it covers. Other climbing areas lie just a short distance away. The Planet of the Apes and The Dark Continent Area are each about 0.2 miles off, and Distant Drum is about 0.4 miles away. For a change of pace, the Water Canyon Trail is roughly 3.7 miles from the area.
