Avalanche Wall is a climbing area in Utah's Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, within the Spanish Fork Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the wall sits right alongside Santaquin Canyon, which is about a tenth of a mile away. The climbing here is all sport, with five routes ranging from about 5.10b/c to 5.11d. The names of the routes are all variations on "Unknown," including Good Unknown, Middle Unknown and Power Unknown. The median grade is 5.11b, so expect a climb in the 5.10 to 5.11 range. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Santaquin run to highs around 69°F in May and 78°F in September, while July peaks near 90°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet below the wall, so temperatures up high run cooler.
