The Asteroid is a bouldering area on Forest Service land in Utah, within the Spanish Fork Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. It sits among a cluster of climbing, hiking and paddling destinations, with Drone Wall and Right Fork Hobble Creek both less than a mile away. The area is a bouldering-only spot, with six routes covering the V2 through V8+ range. The easiest are Eclipse and Lunar, both V2, and the hardest is Zero Gravity at V8+. The boulders were first climbed by climbers including Brian Koralewski and Kyram Adsit, and they make the most of the area's proximity to the trails and waterways around it. Spring and fall bring the mildest conditions. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show highs around 64°F in April and 67°F in October, with July highs near 93°F. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run a little cooler. Nearby, Left Fork Days Canyon offers a hike about a mile off, and the Cherry campground is about 1.2 miles away. Paddlers can head to Right Fork Hobble Creek, and the Seclusion climbing area is roughly 1.7 miles from The Asteroid.
