Sovereign (lower) is a mountain biking route in Utah's Sovereign Lands 8, part of The State of Utah Forrest, Fire and State Lands. The State Department of Natural Resources manages the land, and the nearest town is Moab, about 12 miles away. The route is an out-and-back of about 2.2 miles, with a low point of 4,592 feet and a high of 4,695 feet. The climb is moderate, with about 75 feet of elevation gain one way. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Moab show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 68°F, while July averages about 96°F. The L.4 Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Sovereign Trail (Lower) and Saltwash Trail are within a mile. For an overnight stay, Courthouse Rock Campground is about 4 miles off.
