Sovereign Trail (Upper) is a mountain biking route in Utah's State of Utah Forrest, Fire and State Lands, within Sovereign Lands 8, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is an out-and-back that starts and ends at the same low point, about 4,490 feet, and climbs to about 4,685 feet over a round-trip distance of about 2.2 miles. The one-way climb gains about 220 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 68°F, while July averages about 96°F. The Sovereign Trail (Lower) and the Motherload Trail both lie within a quarter mile, and the Alternate Trail is about 0.2 miles away. For an overnight stay, Courthouse Rock Campground is about 3.9 miles off.
