Short Fuse Trail is a mountain biking route in Utah, about 1.7 miles from the town of Kamas. It is a steeper, semi-technical one-way climb to the highest point on the High Star trail network, with rocky challenges to tackle both on the way up and on the descent. The trail is an out-and-back, covering about 2.2 miles from a low point of 7,734 feet to a high of 8,038 feet. It is rated hard, and dogs are allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Kamas show July highs around 84°F with lows near 50°F, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. The Chase Trail and Saddle Loop Trail both start within a quarter mile, and the Bottoms Up Trail is about half a mile away. Ponderosa Group Campground, roughly 3.5 miles off, is the closest place to camp.
