Bear Trap is a mountain biking route in the Salt Lake Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah, managed by the Forest Service. The ride starts at about 8,291 feet and climbs to about 9,800 feet over a distance of roughly 1.3 miles, with a total gain of about 1,489 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Silver Lake Brighton, which sits about 1,060 feet lower than the route's high point, show July highs around 72°F with lows near 47°F. That station's figures run cooler than conditions on the route. Beartrap Fork Trail is about half a mile away, and Lake Desolation is about 0.6 miles off.
