Wheeler Creek Middle Fork is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Ogden Ranger District of Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. The trail is about 2 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 307 feet, and it rises from about 5,650 feet to about 5,966 feet. The trail is open from June through October, and that season is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Pineview Dam weather station show June highs around 77°F and September highs around 75°F, with summer and early fall seeing the fewest wet days. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. The route is natural-surface and not accessible. Hikers and riders can take it on foot or on horseback, and mountain bikers also have options close by. The Icebox hike starts just 0.2 miles away, the Wheeler Creek mountain biking trail is about 0.7 miles off, and Maples Campground is roughly 1.4 miles away. Climbers can find Killer Crag about 2.7 miles from the trail.
