West Fork-Rock Creek is a 5.8-mile out-and-back hike in the High Uintas Wilderness, part of the Duchesne Ranger District of Ashley National Forest in northeastern Utah. The trail rises from a low point of 8,460 feet to a high of 9,154 feet, with a total elevation gain of 704 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is rated moderate. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows horses, so riders can take it as well as hikers. It is open year-round, and the nearest town is Duchesne, about 12 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Moon Lake weather station, which sits about 1,000 feet lower, show July and August highs around 77°F with lows near 48°F. Winter is harsh, with January highs around 31°F and lows near 7°F. Rock Creek Trail and the Rock Creek hike both start within a third of a mile. Upper Stillwater campground is about 2.3 miles away, and Lamarla Lake is about 2.6 miles away.
