Um Creek is a 20-mile out-and-back hike in Utah's Fishlake National Forest, within the Fremont River Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail's natural surface and the climb of 1,094 feet make it a hard route. The trip begins and ends at a low point of 7,996 feet and reaches a high of 8,961 feet. Bikes are allowed on the trail, so it works for riders as well as hikers. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Salina run to highs around 73°F in June and 80°F in July, though that station sits about 1,400 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. The hike is open year-round. Paiute Campground, about 2.7 miles away, offers a place to stay, and the Lower Left Fork Um trail lies just 0.8 miles off. Rock Canyon (Tasha Creek) is about 2.4 miles away, and Reflection Spring is about 3.1 miles away.
