Pine Creek is an easy out-and-back hike in the Richfield Ranger District of Fishlake National Forest in Utah, about 1.8 miles long with a 420-foot elevation gain from a low point of 8,469 feet to a high of 8,906 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced and open year round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Salina run to highs around 80°F in July and 77°F in August, with lows in the low 50s. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. Bikes are allowed, so the route works for hikers and riders alike. The climb is gentle, and the trail makes a short outing for anyone exploring the district. Nearby, Salina Flats is about 1.9 miles away and Skyline Drive about 2.8 miles. White Mountain is about 3 miles off, and Salina Creek Second Crossing Trailhead, a campground, is about 5 miles away.
