Salina Flats is a 5.8-mile out-and-back hike in Utah's Fishlake National Forest, within the Richfield Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from a low point of 7,685 feet to a high point of 8,985 feet, with an elevation gain of 1,279 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station run to a high of 80°F and a low of 53°F, and the station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the high point run cooler. Winter is cold, with typical January highs around 33°F. The trail has a natural surface and is open year-round. Bikes are allowed, which makes it an option for riders as well as hikers. Jump Creek is about 1.4 miles away, and Beaver Creek and Pine Creek are both within 2 miles. Salina Creek Second Crossing Trailhead, a campground about 5.4 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
