Forsyth Trail is an easy hike of about 2.7 miles in the Pine Valley Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in southern Utah, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a one-way climb of about 405 feet, taking you from a low point of roughly 6,660 feet to a high of about 7,080 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cedar City show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 77°F, while July averages about 87°F and winter highs sit in the low 40s. Several other outings lie close by. The Practice Loop is about a mile away, and the Santa Clara River Trail is about 1.3 miles off. Pine Valley Guard Station, a campground, is about 2 miles away, and the climbing at Hero Wall is about 2.5 miles away.
