Birch Canyon is a hard hike in the Logan Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in northern Utah, about 7 miles from the town of Logan. The trail is an out-and-back that climbs from about 6,200 feet to nearly 9,000 feet, with a total gain of about 2,800 feet. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses, and it is not an accessible route. The Forest Service manages the land. Birch Canyon Trail is the name of the route itself, and it sits right beside the place. Smithfield Campground is about a mile away, and the Smithfield Dry Canyon climbing area and Smithfield Dry Trail are each about 1.5 miles off. Tony Grove Lake Campground is roughly 6 miles away.
