Auger Hole Trail is a 6.3-mile out-and-back hike in the Escalante Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in southern Utah. The route rises from about 8,569 feet to a high point of 9,930 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,353 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is rated hard. The trail is natural-surfaced and open to both horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can join hikers. The trail stays open from about May 1 through October 31, which makes it a destination for late spring and early fall trips when conditions are typically most comfortable. The West Fork Trail lies about 2 miles away. Cowpuncher Guard Station offers camping within about 3 miles, and the Great Western Trail's Pine Creek Section is a little over 3.7 miles off. Blue Spruce Campground, about 4.8 miles away, is another nearby option for an overnight stay.
