Upper Narrows Campground sits in the Salt Lake Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah, managed by the Forest Service. It's close to wilderness access and makes a practical base for exploring the surrounding climbing and trails, with Lower Narrows Campground and the North and South Narrows climbing areas just 0.1 mile away. The campground has six single sites, along with two group sites that can hold up to 30 and 50 people. There is no water system on site, so visitors must bring their own water. Vault toilets are the only facility, and fees are charged for stays. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the Johnson Pass weather station, about 11 miles away, put May highs near 70°F and September highs near 77°F, while July averages around 91°F and January highs sit near 39°F. Other nearby spots include the Mining Fork hike at 0.6 mile and the Stansbury Front Trail at 0.8 mile. Loop Campground and Boy Scout Campground are both within a mile.
