Red Canyon Campground sits along Scenic Byway Utah State Highway 12 in Red Canyon, within the Powell Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in southern Utah. The Forest Service manages the land, and the campground is set among ponderosa pine with Pink Claron Limestone formations like those in Bryce Canyon National Park. The site has 37 campsites with picnic tables, fire pits and grills, tent pads, drinking water, flush and vault toilets, showers, a trailer dump station and garbage disposal. The Buckhorn Trailhead is inside the campground, and the Golden Wall Trail can be linked to it for a 5-mile round trip hike. The Red Canyon Bicycle Trail and the Red Canyon Visitor Center are also close by. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Bryce Canyon show July highs around 81°F with lows near 45°F, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s. The Red Canyon Bicycle Trail and Buckhorn Trail are both within a quarter mile. Tunnel Trail and Pink Ledges Trail are about half a mile away.
