King Creek Group Area is a Forest Service campground in the Powell Ranger District of Dixie National Forest in southern Utah, about 0.2 miles from King Creek Campground. It sits apart from the main campground, offering solitude and privacy that makes it a good fit for family reunions and scout camps. The site has two group sites, each with picnic tables, fire pits and tent pads. Drinking water is available, and flush and vault toilets are on site. There is a dump station, and a boat ramp at Tropic Reservoir. Garbage must be packed out, and there is no garbage disposal. OHVs are allowed to drive in and out. The King Creek Trail starts at the entrance and offers views of the surrounding hoodoos and of Tropic Reservoir. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. Kings Creek and King Creek Campground are both within a quarter mile. The King Creek Trail and Chimney Rock Trail are each about a mile away.
