Crime Buttress is a sport climbing area in Tennessee's South Cumberland, a cluster of climbing spots that sit close together. It is a short walk from So What Area, The Right Bunker and White Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile, so it pairs easily with time on those other walls. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.9+ up to 5.12c. Standing Room Only, a 5.11a, was first climbed by Rob Robinson and Steve Goins in the mid 1980s, and Liars, a 5.12c, is the hardest listed route. The median grade is 5.11d. For timing, fall is the most comfortable season. Typical averages from the nearby Monteagle weather station show October highs around 68°F with lows near 47°F, and September and October see the fewest wet days of the year. The Fiery Gizzard Trail starts about 0.3 miles away, and Big Fiery Gizzard Creek, a paddling route, is about 3 miles off. Raven Point Trail and Dog Hole Trail are both within about 4.5 miles.
