Strings is a climbing area in the La Grande Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in northeastern Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Fiddlers Hell and Concert Hall both about 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Meacham weather station show July and August highs around 79°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and rain on roughly half the days. Mountain bikers can head to 766 Red Ledge, about 2.8 miles away, and paddlers will find Five Points Creek about 4.2 miles off. For an overnight stay, the Summit Guard Station Bunkhouse is about 4.5 miles away.
