Spiderman Buttress is a climbing area in Smith Rock State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. It sits among several other climbing spots, with (i) The Fourth Horseman and Mesa Verde Wall each about 0.1 mile away, and (g) Morning Glory Wall at the same distance. The Misery Ridge Trail and Mesa Verde Trail are both about 0.2 mile off, so it's easy to pair a climb with a short walk. The area has 13 routes, with trad climbing making up the bulk of them. The grades run from 5.4 to 5.10c, and the hardest route is Explosive Energy Child at 5.10c. Sport climbers will find Stiff Little Fingers at 5.9, and Captain Fingers is a trad route at 5.10-. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 79°F, while July and August average in the upper 80s. Skull Hollow campground is about 4.5 miles away, and South Shore Group Sites is about 8.6 miles away for anyone planning an overnight stay.
