Main Smith Rock Area is a bouldering area within Smith Rock State Park in Oregon, on city-managed land. It sits among several other climbing spots, including (j) Rope de Dope Block and Shipwreck Wall - River Face, all within about a tenth of a mile. The Rim Rock Trail and Canyon Trail are hiking options about 0.2 miles away. The area is a bouldering destination, with 21 routes on the V scale, ranging from V0 to V8. Most are in the V1-2 range, and the hardest is Jizz Sap at V8. Anus Cling, a V1- boulder, was first climbed by Matthew Beer in 2021. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Redmond show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 79°F, while July and August average highs near 88°F. Skull Hollow campground is about 4.4 miles away, and South Shore Group Sites is about 8.7 miles away.
