Mohawk is an easy mountain biking route in Oregon's Siuslaw National Forest, within the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA. The climb is an out-and-back of about 1.2 miles, with a high point of 1,667 feet and a low of 1,541 feet. It's a short ride, with a total elevation gain of 108 feet. The route is easy to fit into a longer day. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.09 miles in, where the grade reaches 16%. That slope eases quickly, and the rest of the ride stays gentle. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Corvallis put July and August highs in the low 80s and lows around 46°F, with only four or so wet days a month. That station sits roughly 1,075 feet below the route, so temperatures on the climb run cooler. Several short hikes start right around the route. Carl's Adventure is about 0.1 mile away, and Root Down and Collarbone Alley are each about 0.2 mile off. Marys Peak Campground, about 4.1 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
