The Wallowa Park Tie-In Trail is a moderate out-and-back hike in Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness, part of the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is short at about 1.2 miles, with a total elevation gain of 1,753 feet. The high point reaches 5,272 feet, and the low point is 4,390 feet. The climb is steep at the start, with a 37% grade at about 0.08 miles in. The trail is a short, steep route, and the round trip adds up to about 1.5 hours. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Joseph, Oregon, show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F with only five or six wet days a month, while winter highs sit in the mid-30s.
