Blowdown is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Eagle Cap Wilderness, part of the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in northeastern Oregon. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail starts at about 6,424 feet, rising to a high point of 6,426 feet before descending back to the start. The route is about 1.1 miles long, with a total climb of 2,159 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.36 miles in, where the grade reaches 47%. The trail sits right beside the Old Chief Joseph Trail, about 0.1 mile away, and the Chief Joseph Ascent is about 0.2 mile off. For an overnight base, Hurricane Creek Campground is about 4.8 miles away, and the Wallowa Mountains climbing area is about 4.4 miles away.
