Tumalo Mountain is a 3-mile out-and-back hike in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises from about 6,360 feet to a high point of 7,541 feet, with an elevation gain of 1,155 feet, and is rated moderate. The route is on natural surface, and the Forest Service trail records show no horses or bikes allowed. The open season runs from June 15 to October 31. The Swampy-Dutchman Trail #40 and the Dutchman Loop cross-country ski route both start about 0.1 mile away, and the Mount Bachelor Trail is about 0.4 mile off. For an overnight stay, Soda Creek campground is about 3.6 miles away.
